Queensday 2007
Dutch Dream has been the organizer of Queensday in Punda for many years. Through the years it became more professional and with this added quality it is becoming a better event every year. So in April this year we proudly present: the 15th annual Queensday!
Trough this website we will keep you informed about the different aspects which will be a part of Queensday 2007, Monday the 30th of April.
Prior to the 30th of April there will be, just as last years, a Queensday Newspaper. The content of this newspaper will cover the program of the day, background stories about the activities, interviews and other related subjects. And there is the opportunity to advertise in this paper in tabloid format.
Normally there was the 7 Dia Loko Loko in the week before Queensday. A week of highlighting the merchants in Punda. The visitors can shop till they drop with good offers. And they also have a chance of winning nice prizes because they receive a ticket from a lottery when they buy something. Because of the 15th anniversary the 7 Dia Loko Loko will change a little bit this year. More extended and with a special price… Check out the website..!
Queensday is not complete without the Queenmarket. Tents, tables and stands will be set up in several streets of Punda. On the spot you, as a participate, can sell lots of things. Dutch Dream will rent out these locations to everybody who will sign up at our office. Signing up is possible on Saturdays between 2 pm and 6 pm.
Dutch Dream will not be true to itself if there was no sportive race on Queensday. The tournament of this year will take place on the water and in the weeks before Queensday people can sign up.
If you are not the sporty type, you can always encourage the active ones from the shore.
As in former years there is this year as well a stage to complete the day. On and around the stage there is going to be a lot of action. While enjoying a cool refreshment you can watch the acts and shows. The program will be divers and surprising. Plenty to laugh about, to see and to do!

Goal
Foundation for Child Protection Curaçao is established in 1947 and sets as goal: the protection of the child against neglecting, abuse and violence and conduct that what is important for the threatened, neglected and abused youth. The foundation is a flat organization, works with people who work voluntarily and they are dependent of donations.
Working method
The Foundation for Child Protection Curaçao offers help in the widest sense of the word to the youth in the age from 0 to 21 years, parents or care-takers or future professionals whom will be in touch with the youth. This help exists mainly from giving instructions, mediate between and refer to the important institutions.
The alphabet
One of the activities of the Foundation for Child Protection Curaçao is the alphabet. The letters of the alphabet were used as a starting point to offer the parenst and care-takers a simple and understanding way of supporting them in the way they bring-up their children. The reactions about these messages in the newspapers were very positive from a lot of parents. So the foundation was encouraged to produce more material that supports them in the education of their children.
Evaluating these supporting materials the decision was made to complete the alphabet and to publish it in a book form. So in the future it can be offered to the parents and care-takers. Presentation of this book should take place in 2007 for parents, (boarding)schools, child-daycare's, community centers and youth organizations.
This is possible with your help by participating in Queensday 2007!
