"Bon Dia! Our names are Marije and Fabienne. At the moment (December 2003) we are both trainees at Dutch Dream Special Events and we would like to tell you something about our work and experiences. Generally speaking, an internship at Dutch Dream does not mean sitting behind a computer all day. We are actively involved in different events, spending a lot of time in the open air. Our office is located at Landhouse 'pundaevents', a small attractive red-painted Landhouse, 20 minutes from Willemstad. Each of us has her (or his) own job to do, and that of course has priority. We also help with the organisation and execution of special events. If you join us, you and the 'boss', Ed, will work out your specific internship task together. The internship assignment will keep you occupied during your full internship period and, since Dutch Dream is a small company, there will be plenty of responsibility. A lot will be expected of you as a trainee. To complete your trainee period at Dutch Dream successfully, you need the following skills: to be able to think for yourself, come up with ideas, be creative, take initiative, be tough and show perserverence and commitment. You should also be bright and enthusiastic, capable of supervising a group in a friendly and natural manner.
The internship aside, the island of Curaçao is a fantastic place to spend a few months. After work, and especially during the weekend, everyone is in a holiday mood. During the weekend, you can visit the most beautiful beaches, go diving or out with friends, and all this while the temperature is 35ºC/95ºF. If you want, you can go out every night: Tuesdays, there’s a movie on the beach at Mambo's, Friday night is "Happy Hour" time and, on Sunday evening, you can find each other at Wet & Wild while drinking an Amstel Bright.
What a great feeling of freedom to be away from home for five months - we can't get enough of it!!
